Other TCP/IP traffic.

toonel.net allows to compress virtually any TCP/IP traffic. Here is an example how to set up MS SQL Query Analyzer to access MS SQL Server through toonel.net. To do that we need to know our MS SQL Server’s address and port number on which the server listens for connections. Let’s fill the table below with setup information:

MS SQL Server address: sql.toonel.net
MS SQL Server port: 1433

Next we need to create a map in toonel.net as follows:

Press Apply button to make the changes active. Here we setup a tunnel saying that all queries sent to toonel.net application (address 127.0.0.1) on port 1433 should be forwarded to sql.toonel.net to port number 1433. To connect to our SQL Server let’s run SQL Query Analyzer and in the login window we specify toonel.net as our SQL Server (address 127.0.0.1):

When toonel.net (address 127.0.0.1) gets queries from SQL Query Analyzer it will forward the queries to sql.toonel.net as we specified in our mapping in toonel.net.
Some installation might require additional setup SQL Server Client Network Utility. Please refer SQL Server Books Online for more details.
